No-Oven Stovetop Bread

No-Oven Stovetop Bread

This stovetop bread recipe is perfect for when you don't have access to an oven but still want to enjoy fresh, homemade bread. Soft on the inside with a golden crust, it's a versatile bread that can be enjoyed with butter, jam, or your favorite spread.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F or 45°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. Shape the dough: Punch down the dough and divide it into 2–4 equal portions, depending on the size of the bread you prefer. Shape into rounds or ovals.
  5. Cook on the stovetop: Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over low heat. Lightly grease the pan with a few drops of oil. Place one portion of dough in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook for 5–7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
  6. Flip the bread and cook the other side for another 5–7 minutes, covered, until golden and cooked through. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  7. Let the bread cool slightly before slicing or serving warm.

Tips:

  1. Use low heat and a lid to ensure even cooking without burning.
  2. Brush the cooked bread with garlic butter for extra flavor.

ENJOY!!
