Old-fashioned Custard Pie

Old-fashioned Custard Pie

Old Fashioned Custard Pie is a timeless dessert that brings back the warmth of homemade, vintage baking. The pie features a smooth and creamy custard filling, made with eggs, milk, sugar, and a hint of vanilla. This light, velvety custard is baked to perfection inside a buttery, flaky pie crust and finished with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top, adding a warm, comforting flavor to each bite.

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie shell (I use Marie Calendar deep dish)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2-2/3 cups of milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Beat your eggs slightly, then add sugar, salt, nutmeg, and milk. Beat well and poor into the unbaked pie shell.
  3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and cool.
  5. Sprinkle the top of pie with fresh ground nutmeg and serve.

ENJOY!!
